8 Weeks of No-Repeat Dinners

We’re with the crowd that thinks every weekend needs to be 3-day weekend: 1 day for chores, another day for fun, and the last day for rest. Since we’re always feeling squeezed for time to get the grocery shopping in, we started planning our menu with these themed days in mind:

  • Marinara Mondays - Some kind of pasta dish

  • Taco Tuesday - Some type of tortilla dish

  • Waterfront Wednesday - A seafood dish

  • Tender Thursday - A chicken dish

  • Pie Friday - Some type of flatbread or pizza

  • Sizzling Saturday - A grilled and/or smoker dish

  • Supper Sunday - A comfort meal before the week begins again

This helped us narrow our focus when selecting a dinner for each day of the upcoming week. We found that we started looking for variety and before we knew it, this rotation came to be…

Marinara Mondays

  1. Spaghetti with meatsauce and Caesar salad

  2. Chicken alfredo with penne noodles and spinach

  3. Baked ziti and garlic bread

  4. Pasta primavera with roasted zucchini, tomatoes, and red onions

  5. Meatball sliders with Caesar salad

  6. Gnocchi with cherry tomatoes, mozarella pearls, basil, and balsamic glaze

  7. Shrimp scampi with side salad

  8. Lasagna with Caesar salad


Taco Tuesdays

  1. Traditional tacos with hard shells, lettuce, tomato, and cheese

  2. Burritos with ground beef and black beans

  3. Enchiladas with Spanish rice

  4. BBQ Chicken quesadillas with red onions and a side of ranch

  5. Sheetpan fajitas with chicken, onions, and peppers

  6. Taco soup with white rice, sour cream, and shredded cheese

  7. White chicken enchiladas with Mexican street corn

  8. Chicken nachos with black beans and guacamole


Waterfront Wednesdays

  1. Garlic butter Salmon, white rice, and asparagus

  2. Shrimp hibachi with white rice, zucchini, onion, egg, and mushrooms

  3. Sheetpan seafood boil with crab legs, red potatoes, corn on the cob, onions, and lemons

  4. Fish sandwiches with french fries and cole slaw

  5. Teriyaki salmon with white rice and broccoli

  6. Grilled fish with corn fritters and green beans

  7. Seared scallops with creamed spinach and sweet potatoes

  8. Crab cake sandwiches with mashed potatoes and green beans


Tender Thursday

  1. Chicken thighs with cooked carrots and nu potatoes

  2. BBQ drumsticks with loaded baked potatoes and side salad

  3. Chicken marsala with mashed potatoes and asparagus

  4. Greek chicken bowl with chopped cucumber, tomato, olives,red onion, and feta

  5. Roast chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans

  6. Honey garlic chicken with white rice and broccoli

  7. Roast chicken with a mushroom risotto and asparagus

  8. Chicken Buddha bowl with sweet potatoes, quinoa, chickpeas, and spinach


Pie Friday

  1. Make your own flatbreads with arugula

  3. Chicken kabobs with red onion, zucchini, yellow pepper

  5. Grilled chicken, peaches, and burrata salad with arugula and spinach

  6. Chicken wings with carrots, cucumbers, and celery

  7. Smoked ribs with mac and cheese and side salad

  8. Sirloins with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli


Supper Sunday

  1. Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans

  2. Pot Roast with carrots and red potatoes

  3. Shrimp and grits

  4. Shepard’s pie

  5. Chicken pot pie

  6. Stuffed shells with ricotta, spinach, and mushrooms

  7. Stuffed tomatoes/peppers with mashed potatoes

  8. Sloppy Joes with sliced fruit and tater tots
