Book Blanket
This is THE year that I am going to reach my reading goal. For the past few years, I’ve set my goal at 48 books (4 per month). I have this horrible habit of binging books for weeks at a time and then taking a month or two off (usually switching to podcasts). This year, I refuse to fall short again. Seriously, I’ve only missed my goal by a few books. To keep me motivated, I am crocheting a book blanket. The more books I read, the bigger the blanket. I am hoping the tangible representation of the challenge will keep it in sight and in mind. 2026 is my bookish year!

Who doesn’t love a literary inspired outfit?
THEO OF GOLDEN - I selected a white top that looks handcrafted to represent the care and angelic themes of the novel. I chose a painter’s cap and loose pants to represent the portraits in the cafe and the corresponding characters. I chose sandals to capture the Georgia setting. The canvas page is also an homage to the portraits, including the final one. The earrings are a nod to the book cover and the golden bangle and inspirational message are reminders of the book’s messages.THE LIES THEY TOLD - I chose a khaki jumper to represent the work Lena does on the farm. The jacket and necklaces are a nod to the book cover. The handbag is a reminder of the little money and few possessions Lena and Ella come to America carrying. The plain sneakers represent their journey for basic needs. The earrings are made with “forget me not” flowers and capture the truths that are revealed at the end of the novel.Mr. SWOONY - This outfit is the perfect tribute to Eloise’s character. The shoes and handbag give the perfect bride-to-be vibes. The dress color is a nod to the book cover and the cut is young and vibrant. The jewelry is an homage to the bucket list and the impact it has on Eloise’s destiny.
